Honoring Officer Clark
Shane Baker

Students in 5th-grade celebrate Officer Clark's contributions to the school on Patriots' Day.

The students and staff from JCES' 5th-grade team cheer and celebrate as they greet Officer Clark in the hallway on Patriots' Day. The students had discussed local heroes earlier that day and how first responders were instrumental in saving so many lives during the events of 9/11. The teachers and their students created a gift basket to recognize Officer Clark's contributions to our school. Officer Clark goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of our students. He also does his best to form positive relationships with students, while showing them that police officers are meant to protect and serve everyone.

The organizer of the event, Mrs. Partin, had this to say about Patriots' Day and Officer Clark

"Patriots day is a reminder of a day that shouldn't be forgotten and a time to honor those who step in to protect us in our weakest moments. If I want my students to remember the events of 9/11, I must teach them to honor those first responders who protect and serve us every day. Officer Clark is one of those first responders.  One of my students exclaimed, 'Officer Clark is my friend!' We could have no better friend at the Creek."
